UC Libraries join global partners in DEAS-led OA Forward
The University of California (UC) Libraries are proud to join international partners to support the establishment of OA Forward. An internationally governed initiative, OA Forward is led by DEAL Open Access Services (DEAS) together with UC, Consortia Colombia, the Council of Australasian University Librarians, the Max Planck Society, the German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB), and the South African National Library and Information Consortium. UC Libraries Expand Support for Diamond Open Access with Strategic Investments in the Open Journals Collective and Biogeography
The University of California Libraries announce new systemwide investments in the Open Journals Collective (OJC) and the Diamond Open Access journal Biogeography. Together, these new investments reflect UC Libraries’ ongoing commitment to advancing open, equitable, and community-governed approaches to Diamond OA scholarly publishing. At a time when the limitations of both subscription-based systems and author-pays open access models are increasingly apparent, Diamond Open Access offers a viable and necessary alternative.
